A man in his 20s died and at least 40 people were injured when a stage collapsed during a music festival in Cullera, south of Valencia.
The accident occurred during the night of Saturday, and according to the organizers is due to very strong winds in the area. Parts of the festival’s entrance are said to have collapsed.
“We are devastated by what happened,” write the organizers of the Medusa festival on social media and announce that the entire weekend’s program is cancelled.
320,000 visitors were expected to the area.
“Safety has always been an absolute priority for us and we believe that you all understand that the most important thing is to protect yourself,” write the organizers.
