    The police were called to Rinkeby in northern Stockholm at lunchtime on Thursday, where a fight had broken out between “a man in his 25s and an older man”.

    – We found a knife, but we didn’t find anyone with cuts. It appears to have been a fist fight, says Ola Österling at the police press service.

    The classification of the crime is not clear when Aftonbladet talks to the police.

    27 people, including women and children, have died at sea off Tunisia after two boats capsized. 83 people could be rescued from the sea, according to the rescue service.

    The passengers were found off the island of Kerkennah on Tunisia’s east coast. They all came from sub-Saharan African countries and had Europe as their target.

    Kerkennah is a common point of departure for migrant boats traveling across the Mediterranean with the main destination Italy.

    SJ announces on Thursday that ice formation on lines means that no trains can pass through Laxå.

    – We have been forced to cancel five departures between Stockholm and Gothenburg, says Johannes Cleris at SJ’s press service.

    Regional trains are also affected.

    – We try to turn them around where it stops. Then we run buses in between, says Cleris.

    According to SJ, they are waiting for the Swedish Transport Administration to remove the ice from the lines, which means that the trains are not getting any power.

    Authorities in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip state that at least 18 people, including three children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes during Thursday night.

    One of the attacks took place west of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, where a refugee tent camp was hit by an airstrike. Among the dead is a police chief from terror-labeled Hamas and his closest associates. Eight people were also killed in an attack in central Gaza.

    The Israeli military has not commented on the events.

    Despite the New Year’s weekend turning bloody as Israel attacked Palestinian targets, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has threatened to further escalate attacks in Gaza.

    The Transport and Communications Agency Traficom has started a so-called port state control of the tanker Eagle S, reports Hufvudstadsbladet.

    The purpose is to investigate whether the ship meets the requirements set out in international conventions and to prevent flag states from circumventing regulations.

    “The inspection of the Eagle S is a routine operation, but it may take several days. We carry out the inspection so that the police’s operation and investigation are not disturbed”, states Traficom’s shipping director Sanna Sonninen in a press release according to Hufvudstadsbladet.

    If the inspection shows serious deficiencies, the vessel may be taken out of service until the problems are rectified.

    Eagle S, which is flagged in the Cook Islands and is believed to belong to the Russian shadow fleet, is suspected of being behind a series of destroyed underwater cables between Estonia and Finland.

    Seven crew members are suspected of crimes and have been banned from travel.

    The criminal suspects are currently serious sabotage and serious telecommunications crime.
