A disciplinary investigation, what does that entail?
There are three types of investigations by the police: an exploratory, a disciplinary and a criminal investigation. If there is a reasonable suspicion of breach of duty, a disciplinary investigation will follow, as is currently the case. Dereliction of duty means that obligations have not been fulfilled or a regulation has been exceeded. At this time, the officers are not suspects but are involved. There is no right to remain silent. After all, a civil servant must explain what the situation is if there is doubt about his integrity. The Safety, Integrity and Complaints team (VIK) conducts the investigation and reports to the police chief.
