On the TV program: this is the film you must have seen this year, “an exceptional cinema experience”

On the TV program this is the film you must

This science fiction film is already considered one of the best of the year 2024, it can be seen for the first time on television this week before arriving on streaming.

It is still a little too early to definitively decide which film will be at the top of the ranking of the best of the year. But since February, one of them seems to stand out and have a considerable lead, as it has been unanimously praised by the critics (French or international), but also by the public. And good news if you missed the phenomenon, it is broadcast this week on television.

To date, however, it remains the film considered by spectators as the best film of the year if we are to believe the rating awarded on Allociné (4.5/5 for the public, 4.2/5 for the press). For 20 minutes, this second part is “masterful”, when LCI praises “an exceptional cinema experience”. For La Voix du Nord, “science fiction takes a new step” with this “virtuoso, singular, exciting work”, as Le Journal du Dimanche describes it.

It must be said that as soon as it was released in theaters, it aroused the public’s curiosity. Dune: part two is the sequel to the blockbuster directed by Denis Villeneuve which adapts Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name. Carried by Timothée Chalamet, it picks up directly where the first part left us, while Paul Atréides adopts the customs of the Fremen to prepare his revenge against the Harkonnen, who wiped out his family.

Dune: part two However, it is not the film that made the most entries at the box office. With 4.2 million admissions in France, it was notably overtaken by French productions, namely A little something extra (10 million entries) or The Count of Monte Cristo (8.4 million), just like Vice-Versa 2 (8.3 million) or Despicable Me 4 (4.3 million).

Dune: part two is broadcast for the first time on television this week, but on an encrypted channel. Canal+ is responsible for programming it on Friday October 4, 2024, at 9:10 p.m. It will then be available on the MyCanal subscription streaming platform. The first part is already available on several streaming platforms, such as Netflix or Max.
