Getting ready to bring the Manta back to life as a Coupe SUV, Opel is preparing to include the Frontera badge in its future.
Opel, which started to completely change its brand identity with its renewed face, gave the first messages of the process waiting for us, especially with the new generation Mokka. The Germany-based brand, which has entered a period of rejuvenation in a sense, continues its electricity transformation in parallel with the transformation of the Stellantis Group. In this context, the Opel front, which will present the Astra as fully electric after Mokka and Corsa, drew attention with the statement that it will bring the Manta model back to life as electric. This move, which follows the recent trend of manufacturers to return to their old models, will apparently be in front of us in the coming period. According to the information we received from high-end Opel officials, where we had the opportunity to come together as part of a special event, the green light was given for the return of the Frontera badge.

Opel Frontera could replace Grandland in future
The Opel front, which avoids giving too many details about the return of Frontera for now, opens the doors of a fully electric version, pointing to the transformation of the brand. We know that Opel, which does not position an SUV model on the Grandland in its current product range, is also reshaping the future of the Insignia as an SUV. Putting all the pieces together, in line with the fact that the Grandland is not an all-electric version either, Frontera could be the scenario of a future replacement for the Grandland as a C SUV. In the dynamics where Manta is also preparing for an all-electric return as a coupe-shaped SUV, there is also the possibility that Opel’s future SUV product range will appear with the “Mokka-Manta-Frontera-Insignia” formula. Frontera, which Opel included in its product range in the early 90s, was on sale until the mid-2000s before the Antara took its place.
