On the night of Thursday June 2, Sony will unveil the next games expected on PS5 during the State of Play. The announcements are expected to focus on PSVR 2 and offer thrilling reveals from their partners.
The E3 and Summer Game Fest 2022 season opens this Thursday, June 2 with the State of Play, the big online event of sony. This is an opportunity for the Japanese giant to unveil the new features to come on PS5, its famous new generation console, as popular as it is rare. If we don’t know much about the announcements for the moment, the manufacturer has however indicated that the conference will focus on the PSVR 2 – the brand’s new virtual reality headset – and the games in development on the platform.

Needless to say, the State of Play is an event not to be missed for all video game enthusiasts, who hope to have news of their favorite series. Since the start of 2022, Sony has paid particular attention to its communication by keeping gamers excited with the presentation of PSVR 2 at CES, then with the release ofHorizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, not to mention the announcement of new takeovers. This is an important event for the Japanese, which is in increasingly strong competition with Microsoft. He has to face the Xbox Games Showcase this summer as well as the resounding announcement of the takeover of Activision-Blizzard. What announcements are expected for State of Play 2022?
On its website, Sony announces “thrilling revelations […] as well as previews of several games in development for the PlayStation VR2. We already know that we will get a new glimpse ofHorizon: Call of the Mountain, the new virtual reality episode of the saga. We should also expect revelations from their partners, which gives us hope for news of the new and highly anticipated game in the Harry Potter saga, Hogwarts Legacy.
But the event would also be the occasion to give news of two highly anticipated PS5 exclusives, namely God of War Ragnarokwhich we only know is due out in 2022, and Final Fantasy XVIwhich we haven’t heard too much from since the September 2020 PlayStation Showcase.
Finally, we may have some news about the game Forsaken, which was originally set to release in May 2022 and was unfortunately pushed back. Other titles await a release date, such as Stray, where you play as a cute little cat in a world full of robots, and Little Devil Inside. Both were able to seduce with their original concept and their interesting artistic direction.
