On energy Government gains confidence in the Chamber

(Finance) – With 193 votes in favor and 130 against the government obtained the vote in the Chamber the trust requested on the extension decree. The final vote on the measure is expected tomorrow, which then passes to the Senate for the second reading.

The decree, which must be converted into law by November 28, contains among other things the extension to the fourth quarter of the year, until December 31, 2023, of the reduction in electricity and gas bills for families economically more disadvantaged (with ISEE up to 15 thousand euros or up to 30 thousand euros if with 4 children) or with members in serious health conditions, the elimination of system charges relating to natural gas, the reduction of the VAT rate to 5% for the supply of methane gas used for combustion for civil and industrial uses, for the supply of district heating services and for the supply of thermal energy produced with methane gas. Furthermore, the reduction in electricity and gas bills is integrated with an extraordinary contribution to heating costs for the months of October, November and December 2023 and the use of the social card is also allowed for the purchase of fuel.

It is also increased by 12 million euros the fund for the 60 euro bonus for the purchase of season tickets for local public transport or national rail transport, which citizens with a total income of no more than 20,000 euros can benefit from. Among the rules of the decree also the one that allows the regularization, through active repentance to be exercised by 15 December 2023, of receipts for violations committed between 1 January 2022 and 30 June 2023.
