Omnibus Decree, examination begins tomorrow: Senate OK this week

Finance Commission incremental flat tax for concordat

(Finance) – The Senate Budget and Finance Committees have adjourned until tomorrow at 10 a.m. awaiting the explanations of the Deputy Minister of Economy, Maurizio Leo, on the government amendment on “Christmas bonus” from 100 euros for employees with dependent children. The votes scheduled for this evening with the aim of starting the “screening” of the amendments have not been held. In the meantime, the deadline for sub-amendments to the government measure has been set for tomorrow at 12.

The examination of the measure should get into full swing tomorrow with the aim of reaching the Chamber on Thursday or at the latest on Friday and in any case of completing the first reading of the measure in the Senate within the week. The decree expires on October 8th. and it is necessary to give the Chamber time to complete its work on the text. Today a first reformulation of the majority amendment on the repentance linked to the biennial preventive agreement arrived.

“As expected, they are at sea and it is the clear confirmation that there are three parties, three parliamentary groups that are moving forward only for a power pact. The result is that they are blocking Parliament and tomorrow this measure will not go to the Chamber because the conditions are not there – said the Democratic Party group leader in the Senate, Francesco Boccia, after the postponement of the Senate budget and finance committees’ work on the omnibus decree until tomorrow –. The opposition is united and compact, they had said no more bonuses. We are willing to move forward without stopping, but we move forward when there is something. If there is a majority that is divided and that moves forward only because of the barter it makes, the result is there for all to see”.
