BREAKELEN – “It’s just an awful event, it should never have been this way. I’m terribly sorry.” That is what one of the two main suspects in the deadly home robbery of Peter Dhondt from Breukelen said in the Utrecht court this morning. However, nothing of that regret came through in the voice of 19-year-old AM from Rotterdam. According to the Public Prosecution Service, he severely mistreated the 67-year-old victim, including by hitting him with a hammer. The other main suspect, 20-year-old AT from Bunnik, is said to have given Dhondt a fatal blow with a crowbar.
