Nils van der Poel has recently been one of Sweden’s top athletes. He has truly proven that hard training is the key to success, winning competition after competition.

New life

The Swede had a stated goal to be at his very best during the Olympics in Beijing 2022. And he delivered. The 26-year-old won two golds and broke his own world record, but all good things come to an end.

Nils van der Poel announced his retirement after the season, and the Allround WC in Hamer became his last events. There it was, as expected, another gold, and a short time later the Swede told us what the future looks like.

But now comes new titillating information about Nils van der Poel. This weekend, the super Swede will debut in a completely new sport. He will participate in swimrunning in the Ö till Ö competition which takes place in Gothenburg.

– It will be a lot of fun to introduce a brand new sport to such a super athlete as Nils Van der Poel. It is a huge inspiration for us and all other participants that Nils wants to participate, says competition leader Mats Skott.
