For the first time in history, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will take place outside a stadium, on a six-kilometer route in an urban environment, under the eyes of hundreds of thousands of spectators. A bold bet in terms of security, especially in such a stormy international context.

The authorities want to be reassuring, certify that they have made all the necessary efforts to prepare for all eventualities: nearly 35,000 police officers and gendarmes will be mobilized on D-Day, more than 20,000 members of the police assisted by thousands of agents private will be deployed during the Olympic fortnight.
