Olof Lundh was not completely satisfied with SVT’s decision about the Sports Gala.
Now he criticizes the channel on social media – and he gets the support of many Swedes.
“In an advertising-free TV channel that otherwise blurs visible logos, it’s different during the Sports Gala,” he writes on Instagram.
The sports journalist Olof Lundh58, is known to many as a football reporter on TV4 and as a columnist on Fotbollskanalen. He is also an author and writes investigative books about how power and economics affect sports, especially football.
Olof Lundh’s criticism of SVT
Now Lundh has openly gone out and saw SVT after Monday’s Sports Gala. The reason is that Svenska Spel’s CEO Anna Johnson appeared during the broadcast together with the Swedish Sports Confederation’s general secretary Stefan Bergh. They talked to the host Carolina Klüft about the importance of the money that comes into the gambling company and that is invested in youth sports in Sweden.

Olof Lundh thinks that the channel is acting inconsistently and not according to public service guidelines.
“No more checks, but whoever is CEO of the state-owned Svenska Spel (Anna Johnson) gets, as usual, time on SVT to tell, together with RF’s Stefan Bergh, what an incredible benefit the gambling millions do for Swedish sports. In an advertising-free TV channel that otherwise blurs visible logos, it’s different during the Sports Gala,” he writes on Instagram.
Olof Lundh gets the nod
There are many Swedes who agree with Olof Lundh and who comment on his posts on Instagram.
“Good attention!”, comments one person.
“Always just as sad about the game commercials. Good that you don’t give up!”, writes another.
“Thank you for lifting!”, comments a third.
“Totally crazy and thank you for bringing it to our attention!”, writes one person.
“Good that you bring this up Olof!”, someone says.
