– It was expected that Simon Åström would become the nomination committee’s chairman, in terms of the dissatisfaction that has been with Fredrik Reinfeldt. But he announced in November that he is standing for re -election, it is only now that the nomination committee rates him that he withdraws his candidacy. So Swedish football has rated him, says Lundh in “P1 Morning”.
– After less than two years as chairman, he is told that Swedish football does not want as chairman. Then you should know that the three men who have been sitting before him ruled for 40 years. This is completely unique and difficult for Reinfeldt, of course, to be removed after less than two years. And just a few weeks after his secretary general was fired after less than 15 months.

Olof Lundh has been watching the Football Association for many years and puts his finger on why Reinfeldt is forced to leave his role as chairman.
– He has not fully understood the popular movement, simply. He is brilliant on lots of other issues but he has not really understood that you have to be social and be out in the districts to meet people. Swedish football is something that you have to treat in a different way. It has been a great dissatisfaction and it falls on him, he tells the radio program.
Lundh puts it into a historical perspective and this is most unusual for a SvFF chairman to leave already after two years. But the criticism of Reinfeldt has been difficult to close your eyes.
– It is a huge bang for the former prime minister, he wanted to continue but Swedish football does not want him. This is very unusual and remarkable. His time at the Swedish Football Association is a real mistake, Olof tells “News Morning”.
