Escobar Inc is a company registered in Puerto Rico and which claims to own the rights to the deceased drug king Pablo Escobars name. Together with Pablos brother, Roberto Escobarhave Olof K Gustafsson operated the company for ten years.
On December 4, 2023, Olof K Gustafsson was arrested in his home in Malaga, suspected of fraud, money laundering and forgery. US authorities have requested him extradited from Spain and he risks a lifelong prison sentence if he is sentenced in the United States.
According to Olof K Gustafsson, the prosecution consists of 115 points, with a potential maximum penalty of 2,050 years in prison. However, he has appealed the decision on extradition and believes that he is sure that he will eventually go free.
In an interview in Svenska Dagbladet Olof K Gustafsson confirms that he sells Escobar Inc to a group of Swedish investors. Now he will instead focus on family life and possibly enter the construction industry.
– My daughter has grown up, I think more about her and less about going to the Colombian jungle with Roberto Escobar. I might be entering the construction industry, he tells the newspaper.
How much he sells the company for is unclear.
– It’s nothing Elon Musk-Company, but it has its value. By Swedish dimensions it is a big deal. A number of million SEK, he says.
