Exfiltrated with her two children at the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, Olena Zelenska came out of retirement on May 8 to receive her American counterpart Jill Biden, visiting kyiv.

The two first ladies went to a school. Since then, the wife of Volodymyr Zelensky has multiplied the interventions, mainly by videoconference, to bring light to the fate of children in the war, or its humanitarian and psychological consequences.

She has also given numerous interviews to the international media and made the front page of several newspapers in the United States, France, Germany and Spain. This time, she traveled to Washington in person for a series of talks with senior officials.

Olena Zelenska is not an official representative of the Ukrainian government, but she tries to advance the causes that are dear to her.
