Only the orange-red office building in the middle of the complex will be demolished, so that a path will be created from Gansstraat to the banks of the Kromme Rijn. The old women’s prison, the director’s house and the concrete observation clinic remain largely standing. The cells, as you see them now in the old prison, will therefore also be preserved. That was a bit ‘creepy’ in the beginning, a prison as a workplace, says Campmans, but now the atmosphere in the building has really changed for the better.
