Oil EIA crude inventories down by 61 million beyond

(Finance) – Crude inventories in the US have decreased much more than expected in the last week.

The EIA, the division of the Department of Energy American, signaled that crude oil stocks, in the past seven days to August 18, 2023fell by 6.1 million barrels to 433.5 MBG, against expectations for a decrease of 2.85 million.

The stocks of distillates recorded a change of +0.9 million, reaching 116.7 MBG, against expectations for a change of +0.2 million, while inventories of petrols recorded an increase of +1.5 million to 217.6 MBG (a decrease of 0.8 million was expected).

The strategic reserves of oil increased by 0.5 million to 348.9 MBG.
