The Municipal Executive responds in a memo to questions from many parties, led by the Utrecht VVD. Councilor Gertjan te Hoonte is angry about the poor condition of the Huisje van Mien. It is also known as the Hovenierswoning and was purchased in 1997 to make way for a bus lane. Since 1998 it has been occupied ‘temporarily’ to prevent squatting. After the plans were changed, the house was able to remain standing and was given monumental status, mainly because of the stairs and the kitchen in the house.
