Officers bank bosses doctor attacked man charged St Thomas police

A Londoner faces charges after a man assaulted two officers and two citizens at a bank and a doctor at a hospital, St. Thomas police say.

Officers responding to reports of an uncontrollable man at a Talbot Street bank about 5:30 pm Monday determined a man, unprovoked, had assaulted two people, who required medical help, police said Thursday.

Officers, attacked as they tried to make an arrest, used a stun gun to subdue the man, police said.

Later, when the suspect was taken to hospital for a medical assessment, he attacked a doctor without provocation, police said.

A 40-year-old London man faces two counts each of assaulting a peace officer and assault, and single counts of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, mischief and causing a disturbance, police said. He was remanded in custody after a bail hearing.
