A young studio that became known for having developed Marsupilami: The Secret of the Scarcophage under the aegis of Microids, Ocellus Studio dreams of bigger things. In a press release, the Lyon-based company informs us of the launch of a new activity: the creation of its own development studio, namely Ocellus Games. The announcement seems absurd since the studio is already a development studio, but it must be understood that the goal is no longer to work for publishers as service providers, but also to supervise personal productions. The idea for Ocellus is to be available on several fronts: on the one hand, providing an artistic service that works with prestigious brands on international productions (“Ocellus Services”), and on the other, the creation of small independent development teams that create their own games independently (“Ocellus Games”), benefiting from the same artistic quality.
To do this, Ocellus is giving itself the means to fulfill its ambitions and 10 people will be recruited by the end of the year to support them in this new adventure. These new recruits will work with industry veterans such as Cyril Corallo, Founder and General Manager of Ocellus, David Encinas (Animator who worked for Disney USA and Ghibli Japan), Antonin Jury and Nicolas Duboc (Artistic and Technical Directors of the game Marsupilami), Anya Mozharovska (Lead 3D Artist), Tiphaine Jego (Art Director), Jordan Parrin (Art Director), and many more. A video has also been published, just to reveal the very friendly premises of the company and the atmosphere that reigns there.
