Obstructed protection agent – sentenced to damages

The case concerned a regional safety representative, employed by the trade union Byggnads. He considered himself to need a list of workplaces where the company carries out construction cleaning, in order to be able to visit them. But despite reminders via email and phone, the list took six weeks, reports say The world of work.

According to the company, the employees have many short assignments, which is why it was difficult to produce a list. But AD did not agree with that, and gave Byggnad the right. The data must be easily accessible in order “to be able to run a functioning business at all”, writes the court.

The company must now pay damages of 25,000 to the safety representative, 25,000 to Byggnads and bear the legal costs of over 325,000 kroner.
