Israel says it killed alleged Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine in an airstrike earlier this month.
According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Safieddine was said to have been killed in an Israeli airstrike in the al-Dahiya area of Beirut three weeks ago.
Supreme Leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli bomb attack in Lebanon’s capital Beirut on September 27.

The Japanese car manufacturer Honda is recalling more than 700,000 cars as a fuel pump can crack and cause leakage. There is a risk that the car could catch fire due to the leak.
The vehicles are primarily 2023-2024 Accord, 2025 Civic and 2023-2025 CR-V. The recall also applies to hybrid cars that were manufactured at the same time.
It is the second recall from Honda in a short time. Earlier in October, 1.7 million vehicles were recalled that were suspected of having problems with the steering.
A minibus and a car have collided in Filipstad municipality.
Police, emergency services and an ambulance have been called to the scene.

A police operation is underway in Akalla in Stockholm.

Germany has received its first case of the new variant of the disease mpox, formerly called monkeypox. It is the second case in Europe.

The variant is called mpox clade 1b and is spread in a number of Central African countries. The first case outside the African continent was reported in Sweden in August. Since then, one case each has been detected in Thailand, India and now Germany.

A 45-year-old person who was previously suspected of protecting a criminal in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Emilia in Landskrona has been removed from the investigation. This is reported by Helsingborgs Dagblad.
– There is not enough evidence, says senior prosecutor Pernilla Nilsson to the newspaper.
Emilia was found dead in an industrial area in Landskrona on the night of Tuesday 23 July.
A 15-year-old is in custody on probable cause on suspicion of murder. A 13-year-old girl is also suspected of the murder. She has been taken into the care of social authorities.
In addition, five young people, four under the age of 15, are suspected of aiding and abetting serious assault.
A man in Läsarbo has been injured in connection with forestry work.
According to the police, he was run over by a machine and suffered head injuries.
The man must be awake and talkative.
