Nytorg man Andreas Holm arrested for rape – again

The correctional service must have lost contact with the foot shackles • Was paroled last spring

Andreas Holm, called the “Man of Nytorgsmannen”, has been arrested for rape – again.
The victim is a teenage girl, according to information given to TV4 Nyheterna.

The 37-year-old so-called “Nytorgsmannen”, who changed his name from Andreas Holm, was paroled this spring after serving just under two and a half years of his five-year prison sentence.

He has been called one of Sweden’s worst serial rapists and was convicted of seven rapes, eight sexual assaults, six cases of sexual assault, several cases of offensive photography, serious breach of peace, child pornography offenses and minor drug offences. A total of 19 women fell victim to him.

Now he is suspected again.

Suspected of raping a teenage girl

According to information from TV4 Nyheterna, the “Man of Nytorgsmannen” was arrested on Tuesday in Hörby, something Sydsvenskan also reported on. He is suspected of rape and the victim is a teenage girl, according to TV4 Nyhetern’s data.

Prior to the conditional release, the Probation Service assessed that the risk of relapse “in crime, intimate partner violence and sexual crimes as well as sexual violence can be described as high”. The “Man of Nytorgsmannen” was registered with the probation service and was to wear ankle shackles and be under so-called electronic monitoring until September.

Lost contact with the foot shackle

Due to continued misconduct and a continued high risk of recidivism, the decision was extended. At the time of Tuesday’s arrest, he was wearing an ankle cuff, but according to information given to TV4 Nyheterna, the Correctional Service must have lost contact with it during the same day.

Before the weekend at the latest, the prosecutor must decide whether or not to request the “Man of Nytorgsmannen” be detained.

The police in Skåne confirm that an arrest has been made in Hörby in a rape case, but are otherwise tight-lipped. TV4 Nyheterna has sought prosecutor Anders Stridh, who leads the rape investigation.

TV4 Nyheterna has also tried to reach the “Nytorgsmannen’s” lawyer. The teenage girl’s attorney declined to comment.
