The score was 3–3 with just over twelve minutes into the third period, when Gustav Nyquist stepped forward and scored for Columbus.
Teammate Sean Kuraly was then able to make it 5-3 with just over a minute remaining with a goal in an open cage.

Nyquist and teammates Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine each had a goal and an assist.
Minnesota’s Joel Eriksson Ek reduced the deficit to 3-2 in the match against Florida, with just over four minutes played in the third period. Florida’s Gustav Forsling responded by extending the lead to 4–2 just over three minutes later.
The match ended 5–3 to Florida.
