Ny Motorgård opens for Pajala’s young motor enthusiast

Turned complaints to motor yard for young • “had the opportunity to do something”

After a lively debate about EPA riding in Pajala, Dennis Eneslätt decided to take the initiative for a motor yard. Here, the youth of the area may mecca, socialize and develop their car and scooter interest in a fully equipped workshop.
– I know how important a youth farm can be. Now I want to give today’s young people the same opportunities, says Dennis Eneslätt in after five.

In the spacious garage, cars, scooters and other vehicles are crowded – all ready to be mowed. Visitors also find lifting, tools and help from knowledgeable enthusiasts. Both experienced and beginners are welcome to screw and be inspired by each other’s interest.

Community in the first room

Several of the visitors to Motorgården emphasize that the relationship is at least as valuable as the engine interest itself. Wilfred Johansson often comes there to hang out with friends, although he is not always the one who mechanes the most.

– I’m not so interested in engines, but there are many others here who are. And it’s fun to have somewhere to mecca, he says.

From net debate to fixed point

The idea for Motorgården was born when discussions about EPA flowed on social media. Dennis Eneslätt, who was the driving force from the start, saw complaints mixed with defense of the youth’s vehicles. He realized that something concrete was needed.
– Some complained, others defended it. Then it struck me that I actually had an opportunity to do something. I started a campaign and interest was huge, he says.

Now, five months later, the engine farm has become a popular meeting place. Eneslätt appreciates the interaction with the younger enthusiasts.

– You feel young, though you are 45. But when you hear what they say, you feel old.

More bets going on

As the business in Pajala grows, Korpilombolo is also expected to have its own youth farm next year. The idea is to give young people in more places safe meeting places that encourage community and develop the car and motor interest.

– I think this is just the beginning, says Eneslätt. Hopefully more suggestions and space for young people will be formed around the municipality.
