A New York woman, 71, was critically injured in a bicycle crash in Harwich township Tuesday. Chatham-Kent police say.

Four cyclists were riding in single file north on Charing Cross Road, between Drury and 14th lines, about 2:40 pm when the leader hit gravel, lost control and fell, police said.
The woman was taken to hospital by paramedics, assessed and flown to a London hospital, police said.

Sexual assault suspect arrested
Officers arrested a man wanted for failing to attend court as part of a 2022 sexual assault probe, Chatham-Kent police say.
The man was arrested on O’Neil Line in Howard township, police said.
A Harwich township man, 23, faces charges of sexual assault and failing to attend court, police said. The man was released with a court date after a bail hearing.

Man arrested on security relief warrant
A man was arrested on a surety relief warrant for failing to comply with release conditions, Chatham-Kent police say.
The man was arrested on Talbot Trail in Harwich township Wednesday, police said.
A Ridgetown man, 32, faces three counts of possessing a controlled substance for trafficking, two counts each of possessing a weapon without authorization, possessing a firearm without authorization and possessing a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and single counts of robbery, carelessly storing a firearm or weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possessing counterfeit money, police said.
He was remanded into custody until his next court appearance and taken to the Southwest Regional Detention Center, police said.
