One of the giant tech companies Nvidiahas been hacked by a group of hackers!
The initial statement by Nvidia was that the attack originated from Russia due to ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. Shortly after the announcement, the South American ransomware group Lapsu$ claimed the Nvidia attack. It is also claimed that the microchip company was hacked and shared the stolen data and passwords.
Lapsu$, South America’s most notorious extortion group, allegedly breached Nvidia and leaked over 1TB of private data. They said that the issue was actually Nvidia hacking and that’s why they took ransom from them.
According to a cyber-intelligence source on Twitter, the Lapsu$ hacker group claimed responsibility for the Nvidia hack by leaking more than a terabyte of company data, including Nvidia employee passwords and NTLM hashes. Then the hacker group also claimed that it launched a counterattack against Nvidia’s proprietary systems.
Lapsu$ inadvertently left a backdoor for Nvidia to hack into their systems. The software group claimed that Nvidia had successfully encrypted the data. However, they stated that they have backups of the information. Additionally, Lapsu$ confirmed that they have not been attacked by a rival group or any other species.
