A Group of About 50 Ontario Nurses’ Association Members and Supporters Marche from the Southwestern Public Health Building On Buller Street to Woodstock’s City Hall As Talks for A New Contract Veer Towards Conciliation Later This Week.
That Group of Picketers include PRESIDENT ERRIS ARISS, who traveled from Toronto to Lend Her Voice and Lead the Charge.
“It’s integral for me to be here. I’m the leader of the union, and these nurses are probably the most important asset to this community, eSpecially right now,” She Said. “They’ve Shown Their Strength Over Generations and (Then) Covid Hit. Without them, we would have have a communities across Ontario, this one in particular. We’ve seen an outbreak of measles in this community, and these nurses need to be valued.

Bargaining Unit 36 President Darbie Iles Told the Crowd that Southwestern Public Health Already Knows Exactly How Important Each Member is to the Community and Yet “We Have Not Been Given that respect by our use.”
“Just like the People that we care for, we face the same levels of inflation and living expenses, yet our wages have include a little over one one per hundred for the last five years,” islands said. “I am appalled that our nurses are facing such sayrespect from our use, who freely hands outrageous Increases (to board members) but prefers to stonewall those of us who are on the front lines doing our important work.”

“There’s not a huge supply of nurses. Many Have Left of Working Conditions, so value the ones you have and Entiti Others to come the profession. That is within their control. Come to the Table Fairly, Freely and Do What is required,” She Said.
