A nurse in psychiatry in Halland has to quit after reading medical records of patients she did not care for.
The nurse must have read 27 medical records without permission without being involved in the care of those particular patients. The nurse has been reported to the Health and Care Inspectorate as a danger to patient safety, writes Hallandsposten.
The breach was discovered during a routine check and must have been going on for five months.
Since data breach is a crime according to the criminal code, the nurse was reported to the police and the psychiatrist also made a report to the Privacy Protection Agency.
