Number of wolf attacks almost doubled only among farmers without

After a wolf first struck a sheep farmer in Bunschoten in 2018, wolves killed at least 160 more animals in the province of Utrecht. Usually it concerns sheep. BIJ12, the organization that helps provinces and compensates farmers for wolf damage, has so far paid out more than 18,000 euros to animal keepers in the region. Incidents involving pets such as dogs are not mentioned because the government does not pay compensation for them.
