In Europe, the Netherlands is one of the countries where relatively few murders are committed. In 2021, Slovenia, Ireland, Iceland and the Czech Republic had the fewest victims per 100,000 inhabitants. In countries of the former Soviet Union, such as Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Moldova and Lithuania, the number of victims in 2021 was proportionally highest.
