Late last week, husband and wife Stephanie, 73, and Daniel Menard, 79, were reported missing after a friend failed to find them.
The couple was last seen Sunday morning at their Olive Dell Ranch home in Southern California — a “family-friendly nudist trailer park,” according to the ranch’s own website.
The couple’s phones and a purse were left at their home, and later Sunday their car was found unlocked near the home.
Remains were found at a neighbor’s
On Friday, one of the couple’s neighbors, 62-year-old Michael Royce Sparks, was arrested after police found human remains under his home.
Police reportedly used an armored car-like vehicle to enter the home where Sparks was waiting armed.
The remains found were bagged under a concrete bunker and have not yet been identified, but police believe they are the missing spouses.
“We assess that they have died and that they are still here in the area,” said one of the police’s press representatives in connection with the crackdown.
