The Israeli army launched a series of attacks on Iran in retaliation last month. A striking claim was reflected in the Israeli press. Tel Aviv allegedly destroyed “an active nuclear weapons research facility in Iran.”
“HIDDEN FACILITY HAS BEEN TARGETED”
“Walla” news site put forward a new claim regarding Israel’s attack on Iran on October 26. The news, based on unnamed US and Israeli officials, claimed that Tel Aviv’s attack targeted a “secret facility” in the Parchin region near Tehran that “Iran allegedly uses for nuclear weapons research”.
“ADVANCED EQUIPMENT SURROUNDING THE URANIUM”
It was claimed that “advanced equipment used in the design of plastic explosives that surround uranium in a nuclear device and are required to detonate it” was destroyed in the facility called “Taleghan 2” in the attack.
TEHRAN REJECTS NUCLEAR WEAPON CLAIM
Although the news claims that “Iran has a secret nuclear weapons research facility”, the Tehran administration firmly denies the claim of producing nuclear weapons.
In his statement yesterday, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said that they were not trying to produce nuclear weapons in any way in line with the fatwa of the country’s leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and that they would not allow anyone to deviate from this policy.
Israel announced that it targeted military points in Iran on October 26, in retaliation for Iran’s missile attacks on October 1, and that the attack was completed successfully.
Iran had announced that some military points in Tehran and the Khuzestan and Ilam provinces in the west of the country were targeted and that their air defense systems successfully resisted the attacks, but limited damage occurred at some points.
It was announced that 4 soldiers and 1 civilian lost their lives in the attacks.
