Teun, who prefers to keep his last name to himself, looks like a ‘normal’ train passenger. With his tall stature, friendly look and soft voice, he quickly gains the trust of the people he addresses. “I wake up people who are sleeping on a bench. I ask if they are okay or sit next to them in silence if they would rather not have a conversation,” says Teun. He does not wear NS clothing. “That only scares people off, the idea is to be approachable for a group that has lost confidence in everything and everyone.”
