Alzheimer Nederland and NS are donating the train benches, tables, luggage racks and tipping waste bins. This allows the nursing homes to build their own compartment. “Almost everyone likes to travel. But what if you can no longer travel due to dementia?” the organizations write about the initiative. With the train compartments, the organizations hope to give people with dementia in nursing homes the opportunity to travel by train again.
