The categories of the NRJ Music Awards
For its 2022 edition, the NRJ Music Awards therefore had four additional categories, which were added to those already known in previous years. In total, the artists were rewarded in 18 categories, including the four new ones which are:
- French clip and international clip: these categories have been separated;
- Social Hit: rewards the artist who has emerged through social networks or digital media;
- Resumption and/or adaptation;
- Francophone tour: the NRJ Music Awards underline the fact of highlighting the live.
Why Nikos Aliagas does not present the NRJ Music Awards
The 24th ceremony of the NRJ Music Awards took place without its flagship presenter: Nikos Aliagas, injured, announced that he could not ensure the presentation of the high mass of TF1, Friday November 18, 2022. “Dear friends, after a bad fall I injured myself on Saturday on the Star Academy bonus, in concrete terms I will not be able to travel to Cannes“, then wrote the host on Twitter. He was replaced by Camille Combal. Nikos Aliagas will miss the NMAs for the first time since 2009.
For the first time, the public could vote for their favorite artists and songs until the day of the ceremony. The votes opened on Monday, October 10 from 12 p.m. until noon, the date of the ceremony, November 18. To vote, all you had to do was go to the TF1 and NRJ sites or vote by SMS on 7 25 25. It was possible to vote once a day in each category. Note that the votes in the Francophone Song category were made during the evening of the NRJ Music Awards, via a flash vote at the end of the evening by viewers.
In a press release, published on October 25, TF1 and NRJ announced the list of artists who had confirmed their appearance on stage: David GuettaBebe Rexha, Rosalía, Yungblud, Orelsan, Angèle, Bigflo & Oli, Stromae, Clara Luciani, Soprano, Amir, Keen’V, Kendji Girac and M. Pokora have confirmed their attendance. After this first burst of artists, other performances had been confirmed: Ava Max, Lizzo, Gayle, Aya Nakamura, Damso, Juliette Armanet, Slimane, Izia and Soolking.
An NRJ Music Awards of honor to Renaud
In a press release issued the day before the NRJ Music Awards 2022, TF1 and NRJ announced that an honorary trophy would be awarded to singer Renaud for “his exceptional career” and “to celebrate the love that the general public has for him. for over 40 years.” Trembling, standing at the lectern, Renaud attended a musical tribute by Louane and thanked the organizers of the event.
