“Now we have this year’s Peppe Eng”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Last night we saw a classic ending to the second program which resulted in a real duel between Johan Jureskog and Nilla Fischer. They performed two completely different interpretations of the same dance. Both danced an American Smooth. One did it with class, style, technique, and musicality. The other with flash, trash and pasted-on entertainment. Of course, as a dance judge from the dance sports world, I loved the first one. But in the Swedish heart, the other went home. “Honestly, it pisses me off” The Swedish people chose to save the hamburger king. Every week to come, I fear that we will see the phenomenon that is Johan Jureskog crush one by one the more talented participants as if they were meat in the meat grinder that he uses for his hamburgers. There seems to be a joyous and liberating feeling for the Swedish people to save the inferior underdog because it is trying to do its best. But honestly, it pisses me off. We lost an incredibly talented same-sex couple who set a dance standard that made Nilla actually belong to the group of participants that I predicted would get closer to the final. Now we have this year’s Peppe Eng. Take out the magnifying glass – watch the body’s movements It’s like a flashback to the first season when the lovely old man first conquered Let’s Dance. Going forward, I would like you to take out your magnifying glasses and look carefully at the movements of the body. Disconnect all feelings of parody and listen to what we in the jury have to say. But if I listen to what you have said, popularity and personality are more important than good dance development. There is another page that I would like to encourage all other participants to start working on. Pace, technique and turns create good dancing, but if you don’t want to be crushed by Jureskog, you have to start focusing and put in an extra gear to become fantastic show people. Otherwise you risk ending up in the meat grinder and being ground under Jureskog’s feet. Sadly I have to wish: may the best dancer win!
