In October 2018, Netflix announced a multi-year collaboration with the CS Lewis Company. The aim was to bring out new films and series based on the Narnia books by Irish writer CS Lewis. Since then, however, it has become surprisingly quiet about the ambitious company.
Although a creative mind was engaged with Pixar veteran Matthew Aldrich, who as Architect of the fantasy universe works at Netflix. However, the information about the extensive Narnia reboot has not become much more specific. But that is now changing with an extremely exciting director’s name.
Fantasy reboot on Netflix: Greta Gerwig is to shoot two Narnia films at the same time
A new report from What’s on Netflix suggests that none other than Greta Gerwig died first two Narnia movies from Netflix will lift. Yes, you read that right: Plural! The streaming service has apparently not been idle in recent years and now wants to benefit from the Narnia brand in a big way.

That Netflix is looking for popular fantasy stuff that it record with Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings can is no secret. The best example of this is the young adult film adaptation The School for Good and Evil. There is even more potential slumbering in Narnia – and that could now be exploited by Gerwig.
Greta Gerwig made her mark as an actress in films such as Frances Ha and Mistress America before moving behind the camera and starring in Lady Bird strong directorial debut delivered. The follow-up film, the novel adaptation Little Women, was also convincing and gave her the position of director at Barbie.
Gerweig is therefore familiar with brands and films. However, she has not yet implemented a major fantasy blockbuster, which is definitely a interesting move would be in her career. However, their involvement has not been officially confirmed. It is also unclear which Narnia books Netflix will film first.
The most well-known adaptations of The chronicles of Narnia are from Disney and 20th Century Fox or 20th Century Studios and were released between 2005 and 2010: The King of Narnia, Prince Caspian of Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
