New agreement affects Norwegian pensioners

Trade unions are now welcoming the fact that the government and the parties in the public sector have reached an agreement on the pension rules for occupational groups that have specific age limits, the paper reports.

– This is a victory that secures the incomes of large groups of workers. This has been demanding and there is therefore every reason to praise the labor market minister who has done a good job, says LO’s deputy leader Sissel Skohaug in a press release, according to ABC News.

The agreement reached by the parties in the Norwegian government will in future mean that the age limits, which are currently 60 years, 63 years and 65 years, will have greater flexibility and the opportunity to work longer.
