21-year-old Tove was last seen in life on Saturday 15 October last year in the bar Nöjet in Vetlanda. During the evening, a fight breaks out between Tove and two acquaintances of hers, an 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman. The three women decide to go to the 20-year-old’s apartment and talk it out. At 2 o’clock in the morning, a neighbor hears several loud thumps from the apartment. Tove is reported missing the next day. A large search effort is launched shortly afterwards. Hundreds of volunteers are looking for Tove together with Missing people. Found outside Vetlanda On 20 October, the 18-year-old and the 20-year-old, initially suspected of kidnapping, were arrested. Just over two weeks later, on November 2, Tove is found a few miles outside Vetlanda. According to District Attorney Adam Rullman, it is only believed to be a find site and the suspicion is that the body has been moved there. Both women deny it, but after more than two months in custody, the 20-year-old suddenly admits to parts of the crime. She denies murder but admits to trespassing. A month later, the 18-year-old admits that she helped carry Tove’s body but that it was the friend who killed her. At the beginning of March, the cause of death is determined by a coroner. The cause of death is suffocation and later an attempt is made to burn the body. See a summary of the Tove case in the clip above.
