Emma Ribom misses this weekend’s World Cup competitions in cross-country skiing in Finnish Lahtis. The 26-year-old has fallen ill.
In her absence, Frida Karlsson gets the chance in Friday’s sprint relay.
Emma Ribom started the season with wins in the opening two World Cup sprints and has another third place in the discipline this winter.
This weekend, however, she can stay at home. It is the first time in 802 days that the super duo Sundling/Ribom do not compete together in a sprint relay at the World Cup.
“Emma has a mild cold and is already on the road to recovery, but we have decided together that she will stay home from Lahti to instead focus on upcoming competitions,” says the national team doctor Richard Noberius in a statement.
