Deadline has learned from multiple sources that Hoult has been cast as legendary Superman villain Lex Luthor in Gunn’s upcoming film. The studio has not yet officially announced the casting. The role was most recently played by Jesse Eisenberg in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Next to Hoult The two most important stars of Superman: Legacy have already been determined. David Corenswet (The Politician, Pearl) has been cast as Clark Kent, while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan will take on the role of Lois Lane.
When is James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy coming to cinemas?
The DC film is due on July 10, 2025 start in German cinemas. The plot is, among other things, about a world in which superheroes have existed long before Kal-El’s arrival on Earth.
