On Tuesday, the Gävle politicians made the formal decision that the construction will not take place. The Green Party was the only party that wanted the building to go away.
– More train stations in the countryside are crucial for both the development of many localities but also for climate change, it is clearly the most effective way to get more people to be able to travel sustainably, says Therese Metz, municipal councilor for the Green Party in Gävle.
The reason why the construction is not completed is that the costs have rushed to build a new station.
