Festival general Fanny Malmborg Simonsson and project manager Victoria Arnesson both feel relief and joy that the festival is finally underway, because the road there has not been entirely easy.
– There have been many ups and downs that have provided a lot of learning. If you knew how much work it is to make a festival, you would never have gone into it, but it was lucky that you didn’t know, says Fanny Malmborg Simonsson and laughs.
Visitors come back to Emmaboda
The Emmaboda Festival took place for the last time five years ago, after having existed between 1988 and 2018. Many of the visitors that SVT Nyheter Småland spoke to have returned this year.
– We have been here many times at the Emmaboda Festival. It’s like coming home and I think many others feel that too, says festival visitor Emelie Liljenberg.
In the clip, you can follow along into the festival area and hear more voices.
Want to establish a new camping festival
Fanny and Victoria both think that there have been too many city festivals in recent years and therefore think that the Emmabodakalaset is extra important.
– Camping festivals have become fewer and fewer and we really want to preserve that. It is at the campsite that you find new friends, so the campsite is as big a part of the festival as the music, says Fanny Malmborg Simonsson.
And already now they are tagged for next year’s festival.
– We want to establish a new festival in Emmaboda, that’s the plan, says Victoria Arnesson.
