Six years have passed since Alfonso Cuarón delivered the masterful Roma on Netflix. Previously, he directed the breathtaking survival thriller Gravity and the dystopian sci-fi epic Children of Men, not to mention the best entry in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Don’t worry: we haven’t lost Cuarón as a cinematic force. Just a few weeks ago he was a guest at the Venice Film Festival and presented his most recent work before. It is the miniseries Disclaimer, which was created under the umbrella of Apple TV+. Now there is a comprehensive insight into the project.

Disclaimer is based on the novel of the same name by Renée Knight, written by Cuarón in adapted seven episodes which together have a running length of around six hours. It tells the story of investigative journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate Blanchett), who has already received many awards for her work.
Catherine uncovers other people’s lies – and does so very successfully. But suddenly she gets confused himself is the target of serious allegationswhich arrive in your mailbox in the form of a novel. The author: unknown. But he knows a lot about Catherine’s past and explains it in detail in his book.
Before Catherine knows it, her previously orderly and successful life is turned upside down. She sees both her relationship with her husband Robert (Sacha Baron Cohen) and her son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee) in danger. Now she’s trying to find out who is behind the novelwhich reveals their mistakes.

After the Venice premiere at the end of August, the streaming start of Dislcaimer is just around the corner. On October 11, 2024 The first two episodes will be released on Apple TV+. The remaining five chapters of the mini-series follow every Friday every week. The final will appear on November 15, 2024.
