Since July 3, 2024 The action film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. is online on Netflix. The fourth part of the Beverly Hills Cop film series has made it straight to number 1 in the German charts of the streaming service. And part 3 was already 30 years ago.

The fourth Beverly Hills Cop film spent many years in development hell, so it’s a small miracle that it was finally made. The film was directed by Mark Molloy.

The action also begins 30 years after the last part: Axel Foley now lives in Detroit, but a conspiracy within the police leads him back to the upscale district of Los Angeles, where he teams up with his estranged daughter Jane (Taylour Paige) and her ex-boyfriend Bobby (Joseph Gordon-Levitt).

For Eddie Murphy fans, Beverly Hills Cop 4 is a complete success. If he is happy about the ‘Lego car’ When he complains about the problems of young policewomen, demands one phone call after another in prison and scolds a few unsuspecting gangsters, the fit of laughter is not far away. Murphy is having a lot of fun on his return and the script always plays the best cards for him. This doesn’t just mean that Foley’s humor works well. Director Mark Molloy and his writers make him a serious character.
