The Marvel Cinematic Universe is facing its biggest challenge yet. Jonathan Majors has most recently been built up as the big villain of the ongoing Multiverse saga, with appearances in Quantumania and Loki. After the Kang star was accused and convicted of assault and harassment last year, he was fired from the MCU.
How will the superhero series continue without Jonathan Majors? There are currently 2 options for Marvel. Either the role will be recast or the MCU could have a new main villain fill Kang’s shoes. According to a new rumor, a suitable one could be Candidate for Kang 2.0 already be found.
Marvel could recast the Avengers villain Kang and Colman Domingo is said to be the right candidate
According to well-connected industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is looking to hire the actor known from Fear the Walking Dead Colman Domingo are considering recasting Kang the Conqueror, CBR reports. If the studio actually decides to continue the Kang character, Domingo could take over the role from Jonathan Majors.
There is no official decision yet as to what will happen with or without Kang in the future. The report is therefore just a rumor for now and fans should take it with caution.

Colman Domingo in Fear the Walking Dead
Even though he is 20 years older than Jonathan Majors, Colman Domingo would certainly be an exciting choice for the role of MCU villain Kang. In the zombie series Fear the Walking Dead he played the shady survivor Victor Strand for eight seasons and shone in a supporting role as ex-junkie Ali in the HBO series Euphoria. Domingo’s biopic Rustin, about the homosexual civil rights activist Bayard Rustin, only started on Netflix in November 2023.
Colman Domingo wouldn’t be the first star from The Walking Dead universe, taking on a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Danai Gurira, Michael Rooker, Jon Bernthal and Lauren Ridloff, among others, have already appeared in Marvel projects. Steven Yeun will soon be joining the MCU and will appear as the superhero Sentry in Thunderbolts.
