Novo Nordisk makes billion investment
The Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk is investing 15.9 billion Danish kroner (around 25 billion Swedish kroner) to expand the company’s existing production facilities. The work has already begun and should be completed by 2029 at the earliest. It covers a total of around 65,000 square meters.
Thanks to the expansion, 340 new jobs will also be created, according to the company. The stock market value of Novo Nordisk has soared in the past year as an effect of the sales of the diabetes medicines Wegovy and Ozempic, which have found a new use in the form of treating obesity.
