Recognizable by its atypical bell tower and its southern Gothic style, theNotre-Dame-des-Anges church in Collioure was built in 1684 following the destruction ordered by Vauban in 1672 of the old Sainte-Marie church located in the center of the city. Its famous bell tower, added later, still serves as a landmark for sailors to enter the port.
