On April 15, 2019, a tragic fire ravaged Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris during which the flames had consumed the entire spire of this jewel of Gothic art. Four years to the day after the tragedy, a first step in the identical restitution of the Viollet-le-Duc spire has just been taken. Indeed, the stool located at the base of the spire is now fixed to the framework of the cathedral.
